IW Strategies, a Louisville-based boutique government affairs and consulting firm, announced its opening this week.
Founded by Iris Wilbur Glick, an established political consultant and government affairs professional, the newly formed boutique shop will provide services ranging from advocacy and public policy support to nonprofit and political consulting, according to a news release.
“Helping clients navigate the complexities of politics and policy is what I’m most passionate about,” said Glick in the release. “With the relationships and trust I’ve built with policymakers, combined with deep experience in campaigns, I look forward to delivering wins for clients and growing the firm.”
Before forming IW Strategies, Glick was a principal at McCarthy Strategic Solutions, where she managed a local and state portfolio that ranged from campaign consulting to regulations, and policy areas that included economic development, healthcare, taxes, education, planning and zoning and public safety.
Prior to that role, Glick served as vice president of public policy and external affairs for Greater Louisville Inc., the metro Chamber of Commerce. In her role, Glick spearheaded legislative affairs at the local, state and federal levels.
During her tenure, Glick successfully developed and led numerous chamber priorities in areas related to workforce, economic development, labor, health care, taxes and education. In addition, she oversaw communications, public relations, and diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies for the organization.
Glick has extensive experience as a political operative, consulting on campaigns and committees supporting gubernatorial, senate and presidential candidates, such as the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Republican National Committee and serving as political director to reelect the Republican Leader of the U.S. Senate, Mitch McConnell, in 2014.
Among other accolades, Glick was named one of Louisville Business First’s 2021 Forty Under 40.
